I filed in 2018, my bank accounts were untouched and all my credit accounts were closed. Car loan dismissed. Only thing left was student loans. Got a car within a year.

Worked at many banks and CUs - they also have a note system, if you’ve ever filed BK in your life - there is a note on your acct telling us.

What if your chase credit account gets closed before you file? Got a letter stating to pay in full or it will be closed. Is changing banks still a good idea?

Creditors do not know you’re intent to file unless you tell them . Once you have filed you have bk protection . Creditors cannot collect on the debt . If you haven’t filed but just retained a lawyer
