@zoeticzon: Here’s how I spent my 13-hour layover in Japan. Listing out the pre-requisite you have to keep in mind before immigration for reference (see below): 1. No need for Visa but you need a shore pass to go out. Upon areiving in immigration, find an attendant to help you fill out a shore pass form so they can provide it to you before you fall in line for the immigration clearance. 2. You need your boarding pass for the next flight to get cleared and keep your previous boarding pass from your first flight too 3. Once you pass immigration, you would have to fill in the customs form which attendants are handing over before the exit. Fill it in and you are good to go out. For transit, the machine only accepts cash so be sure to find an atm first to withdraw some cash. Safest bet is to have 5000 yen in your wallet for transpo and shopping.
