A way i judge how real a job is by imagining if we started society again how long it would take for us to need that job again in some form. Teacher, doctor, engineer top of list.

I love this idea, but a good amount of blue collar jobs aren't given common sense names, like composite workers. they're vital workers, but not commonly understood

I dated a parts engineer, which sounds real until he was like "I had to put a lever on a thing in autocad" Meanwhile I was doing archaeology in a cattle pasture in Texas, it was 2 different worlds.
