You need a wire brush attachment for a drill. The only non back breaking way to do it

no need to buy new. takes work but really get a drill wired brush or use a palm sander with 60grit. take it down to new and just reseason it several times.

You need to have it hot and then clean it while it’s pretty warm . That grill brick ain’t gonna work with just water

Not sure if you know or not but you can just get a new cast iron top, no need to buy a whole new one if you are looking that direction 🤍🫶🏼

Let it dry, Get a wire brush and brush it and then blow the rust off. You have to bring it back down to the steal and then reseason from there. Just went through this with mine

gurl look up a grill brick we use them at work to clean out grills you use whatever grill cleaner poor it on whole hot and use the grill brick to spread it after that poor water on and and use a rag
