Cervical screening is not a test for cancer. It helps prevent cervical cancer by checking for a virus called high-risk human papillomavirus (HPV). @CancerResearchUK’s research led to the development of the HPV vaccine, which is expected to prevent almost 90% of cervical cancers in the UK If you’ve been invited to a cervical screening, or if you may have missed your last appointment, book now with your GP practice.
