@thatguygray95: Immigration is going to be the topic that decides our 2024 general election here in the UK. The problem is the debate always seems to be one of the extremes; either stop it entirely, or open up the borders. Naturally i think both arguments don’t hold their water as there is always a middle ground that i believe most of us can agree too! As always make sure to leave your thoughts and opinions in the comments below. #immigration #migration #ukpolitics #generalelection #foryoupage❤️❤️ #fyp #foryourpage #asyouwere
A good example of this is the haulage industry from what I’ve heard from older drivers is that it was one of the best paying jobs up until the mass migrations from Eastern Europe in the early 2000s-

This is absolutely spot on, especially on migrant assimilation. Reform are too extreme, yet other parties barely want to address immigration at all. Trickiest election to vote in within my lifetime!

legal migration is not the issue, it's the illegal immigration that is the hot topic, the boats from France need to be stopped, the immigration service needs to sort their act out

Your analogy is exactly what reform are saying though 😕 they want net zero immigration until they have sorted out the mess we currently have and create more capacity in the system. They have never said they don’t want immigration full stop.

The biggest factor is an ageing population. You need large levels of migration because the birth-rate is too low. It’s that or you slash pensions to virtually zero.

The brain drain is a direct result of wages been keep down by importing cheap foreign labour... example NHS.. British doctors moved abroad or went to private because they were paid more.
