This dystopian experiment from the fast food giant has proven to be a massive failure, with multiple reports and viral videos on the internet highlighting the incredible comedic ineffectiveness of these so-called cashiers. In one instance, a customer received nine packets of sweet tea added to her order, despite only asking for one. This error resulted from an audio sample picked up in close proximity to a neighbouring fast food joint. In another video which has since gone viral on TikTok, the AI cashier - nicknamed Tori by McDonald’s - got stuck in an endless loop of apologising and asking for the customer to repeat their order… before interrupting them to start all over again. The McDonald’s corporation has promised that the future of AI cashiers and McDonald’s will never integrate again. What do you make of this?
