My partner is currently in custody - I dropped off a suit to the correctional centre for him to wear, and instead they gave him the clothes he was taken in.. a Tommy jumper and ripped jeans 🥲

I have previously been to smart and purchased an entire outfit for court. I then had it pressed at a dry cleaners for $150 including shoes and belt. I only kept the belt

Yes, correct it shows respect and that u r knowing this matter is important occasion . I even dressed like this for jury service & couldn’t believe some ppl in gym gear . Always very feminine especially when being sued 4 excessive force bc those old judges need /

after some miscommunication, I showed up to court in my dirty work clothes, the magistrate did ask, but did understand my reasoning at the same time, no conviction recorded 😂

I had to go to court recently and I was the only person there with a suit on who wasn't a lawyer. I was shocked. Also noone who wasn't a lawyer bowed when entering the court

the only shirt that fitted when I went to jury duty was my Hawaiian shirt. luckily the bailif was a larger man and loaned me a coat

how much leeway would you say we'd have with that? I have a suit, for example, but all my shirts are black. Is it alright to go in wearing an all black suit, or better off buying a white shirt?
