@allegraspendermp: Nuclear is not a solution for climate or cost of living. It’s too slow, too expensive, and SMRs are completely unproven. The latest data from CSIRO shows that large scale nuclear costs in 2023 are around twice as expensive as firmed renewables, and small modular reactors are around three to five times as expensive. We have the best renewable resources in the world. We can’t miss the chance to seize this opportunity!
if we are at 40% renewable now and its apparently cheaper then why do energy prices keep rising?

Coming from an expert. Amazing how many politicians are experts. if Nuclear was not a good option then the others counties must be wrong

Yes. It’s not expensive. You must include the cost of transmission lines with renewables.

So how long is it going to take to put up the 28,000 kilometers of power line to carry the power from the turbines and solar panels .

So every other advanced country has nuclear, but not for us? No, it’s an option that should be considered

How do you solve the base load power problem with renewables without using fossil fuel energy production like gas or coal? This is why we need nuclear

Too slow???? I think you should study the other countries like Germany. It’s perfect Power.

plus Australia exports far more gas than it uses. gas that gets burnt overseas. why not use it here instead (for baseload)?

wind turbines produce 1000 watts per hour nuclear power station produces 7.2 million kW per hour so you will need to fill the outback with 720k wind turbines to equal 1 power plant .

I'm happy to be guided by the success of other western countries. Nuclear is an important component of their energy mix. Energy diversity is important
