Yeah I am not fluent in Spanish but took some classes in college. I see tik token of Spanish speakers and can kinda grasp what they are saying. So when I’m out around Spanish speakers, I know when they are talking about me or my family. When I turn and ask “que”. They start apologizing or saying they were talking about someone else. I know why others feel uncomfortable and get upset and state to speak English. Just be respectful don’t talk down on others. That’s all.

As a Venezuelan the some of the worst people I’ve had the “pleasure” of serving have often been Venezuelans, specially if there’s something you don’t know how to say in Spanish. 💯 believe her.

Even if you don’t have a Spanish speaking waiter/waitress you find a way to help them and not kick them out which make the case for the customers.

Unpopular opinion, as a Spanish speaker, yes people tend to say ignorant comments like “why is she mad she has to do xyz it’s her job.” I believe the waitress and have said I don’t speak Spanish (1/2)

I am by no means fluent in other languages other than English but I know enough to hold a basic conversation. Best thing is having guests ( restaurant or retail) bash you the entire time then 1/2

I don’t like that answer. I work in food service where no one speaks Spanish and we serve exclusive Spanish speakers all the time. Pointing at a menu is universal
