When I first saw this movie, I hated that Metro Man didn't come back to defeat Hal. Now I realize it had to be Megamind, he needed this to move forward.

The fact that Metro Man’s super speed power could have been used earlier at any time when trying to save Roxanne, shows how he was always putting on a performance before realising it wasn’t worth it.

I love how MegaMind said 'our city' -- he had already subconsciously shifted to the hero role and always saw Metro as his playmate, not a true enemy.

idk that switch from "our" to "your" felt more like he was putting himself down rather than lifting Metroman up. like he was falling back into the familiar role just because Metroman was there. (1/2)

I also picked up on the big brother/little brother dynamic, I’m glad to see a breakdown of it! Megamind never explicitly says it, but you can tell he adores Metro Man and it’s honestly so sweet 🥹

fun fact in the observatory scene you can see metro man twitch for a split second, that was him using his super speed and coming back to the same spot but just very slightly off

I always forget how enjoyable this movie is. You can tell the animators had fun and so did the voice actors with their roles.

one of the things I've seen pointed out so when the whole scene of before Metro man dying you actually can see him for a split second behind megamind which I love that attention to detail
