Had rotator cuff repair and had this done. It was unsettling feeling of not being able to catch my breath and hard to breathe until the nerve block wore off!

Except then I ended up with a collapsed lung. They should tell you this before the surgery.

One time I assisted an anesthesiologist with one, and it ended up paralyzing his whole diaphragm. We quickly converted to RSI/general.

I have had my whole hand paralyzed by blocking the nerve on shoulder( the soft area) and it were weird feeling to not to being able to move hand (they fixed 3 tendons from my wrist)

Why is this done before your put under? I had it done and burned like fire without a sedative which I was offered but declined.

The first thing I’d say to the anaesthesiologist before I go under is, I’m a mover. My body is always moving and I have a spinal cord injury.😎

My doc told me this would happen. It did & it was terrifying but I couldn’t breathe better to keep up w my anxiety. Glad I went to sleep soon after 😅

Can you tell me why the drugs that paralyze my body kicked in before the drugs that put me to sleep during my last surgery? for about three or four seconds I was awake and realized I could not breathe

When I had it it only paralyzed my diaphragm and didn’t go rot my shoulder. That was miserable.
