ICU nursing is big time team nursing. If you don’t have a good team, it’s basically impossible. I’ve had shifts where I see my patient at report and like at the end of shift.

Whatever they’re paying you it can’t be enough. You guys are indispensable. I stayed with my wife during her end stage cancer watching the CCU nursing staff and was blown away by their professionalism

One time I had to take my pt to IR twice plus a CTA, my second pt saw me for seconds every hour bc he was on an insulin drip and I had to do hourly accu checks 😭 ON DAY SHIFT

Thisssss is the specialty I’m dying to go into as a new grad, how long was your preceptorship? Did you have icu experience before hand, my school didn’t do icu in clinicals but i would love do it!!!
