I did a shadow shift and the amount of neglect was astounding never went back. Got shouted at by another staff member. Various red flags. I need a job but morally couldn't do it.

I worked in a care home once and they ran out of pads. I left and reported them. we were advised to just leave wet pads on. It was cruel and negligent

I couldn't get them to send another carer to help wash a man with severe diaper rash - his skin was cracked and bleeding openly and they put a tarp on his chair so the leaking wouldn't ruin the chair

My MIL worked in a care home and a man’s stoma tube had become disconnected. When she told the senior nurse they told her to leave him in mess as he had pulled it out himself

I was working two years ago. A night shift. During handover I was told we had NO continence aids and told we had to use towels. Absolutely disgusting. No remorce. The reason why? No RN could 1/2

I worked as a carer and stories like this happened all the time. it's what made me leave. despite telling upper management about problems, concerns of safety and hygiene, they don't listen or care.

I was 8 months pregnant and I couldn’t do half the jobs they’d asked me so I did my best but couldn’t fully help…the amount of neglect was insane.
