Went for blood last week. Male nurse made me chug 3 cups of water because I was “dehydrated”. Turns out he wasn’t hitting a vein. He also tried to say the vein rolled (almost 2 inches to the left)🤪

As a phlebotomist, this!!!! I couldn’t stand when patients would come in “they tell me I have rolling veins, they never get it” — me who gets it on the first try “wow how’d you do that so good?” 🙃

So many people really are dehydrated tho it’s crazy. On multiple occasions I have had people tell me, sorry I didn’t hydrate, wasn’t expecting to get blood drawn…??!?!? You’re supposed to be hydrated

i’ve had them fully blow my vein and infuse them on a valve and she said “nooo you’re fine that’s normal” while i was screaming in pain lol

I know this is just a joke but it’s also sooo frustrating when you get stuck 5+ times bc the same person/people will keep trying even when u tell them you’re gonna need the ultrasound 😢
