We do like to self medicate ourselves over here, prescription dosage is 600 or 800 mg so if you have a killer headache, you can take 800mg

I don't go over the limit. I may take 1 400mg pill every 4 hrs instead of 6 though to keep some in my system, but only when my migraine is bad.

A doctor prescribed 800 mg taken 3 times a day for an injury I had. The only worry was stomach issues. Take with food.
