my dentist told me about xylitol mints about 15yrs ago because of my dry mouth. it's wonderful. why aren't more dentist recommending it

As a hygienist, I don’t think I’ve ever seen a pt that truly couldn’t benefit in one way or another from a cleaning. Every. single. patient. has at least a speck of tartar, plaque, or stain.

As a hygienist, I can say it’s very rare to get a patient in your chair that does a great job cleaning. Most people need a professional. I have had a handful of people I said didn’t need one

I never went to the dentist as a child. Finally went to have a checkup as a teen and they cleaned them. After that the cavities proceeded to come!!!

I didn’t go for 8 years brushed flossed and I went and 1000 dollar bill and no cavities but tartar buildup and decaying teeth affects the brain

I always have a plaque buildup on the bottom front teeth on the backs. Need it cleaned every year. I can’t stop it from building unfortunately. I usually brush there the most and it doesn’t help.
