Since time memorial we have seen the moral goal posts stand firm in their place up until the last century where confusion has plagued our moral compass and things have started to change. Such realities are felt and are instinctive. Yet are considered taboo in today’s world sadly and are reduced to intimate conversations we can only have with trusted friends in private. Statements such as femininity is preserved, and a woman’s worth is based on how far she falls are now seen as heretic and blasphemous. This video is an important reminder for every person who doesn’t allow society to influence them beyond what has always been considered normal. However it must be said that the emphasis here is not on women, but on men, to earn, protect, provide, take care of and treat well their women. And this is what Allah and his messenger ﷺ have told us. Surah An-Nisa (4:34): “Men are the protectors and maintainers of women, because Allah has given the one more (strength) than the other, and because they support them from their means.” Surah Al-Baqarah (2:228): “And due to the wives is similar to what is expected of them, according to what is reasonable. But the men have a degree over them [in responsibility and authority]. And Allah is Exalted in Might and Wise.” Sahih al-Bukhari: “Fear Allah in respect of women.” Sahih Muslim: “Each of you is a shepherd and each of you is responsible for his flock. The ruler is a shepherd and responsible for his subjects; a husband is a shepherd and responsible for his family; a woman is a shepherdess and responsible for her husband’s house and his offspring; and so all of you are shepherds and responsible for your flocks.” Tirmidhi: “The world is a provision, and the best provision of the world is the righteous woman.” This hadith underscores the value of a woman’s righteousness and chastity. Sahih al-Bukhari: “The most perfect of believers in faith are those who are best in their behavior, and the best of you are those who are best to their wives.” So this video is really a reminder to men, more than it is to women. - @thesunnahguy
