I used to not have to cover, but when we got a new secretary, instead of trying to find subs she took advantage of the specials teachers and made us sub during our prep times. 1/2

In elementary they just split the class and put the kids in the other classes. So we pretty much lose the whole day of plans! So sad.

I’m a para and I would dread if my student was out because I might get pulled to cover another student. I compared it to being in a foreign country. Trying to get to know the student, learn the behavior plan, learn what works and what doesn’t. Very stressful. Luckily my student was never out.
