The rider knows that the next few days will be stormy but he stops to fill for gas because it’s a weekend routine which sets the foundation for his week. Whether filling up your motorcycle’s gas tank or writing in your journal, sometimes we just need something that sets us up for the week to come, prepares us for it’s challenges, or gives us something to look forward to - for me, knowing I have a full tank of gas in my motorcycle, knowing I can hop on the saddle for a 30 minute ride during my lunch break, this keeps me going through the tougher days. In the small towns of North America gas stations are a novelty for me, it’s a perspective not many share, but you’d be surprised how many great conversations I’ve had at the petrol pump. From motorcyclists of years-gone-by, to strangers passing through - a small conversation and a smile goes a long way in a place like a gas station.
