For me it was my ex belittling nursing as easy and a career for people not smart enough to go to med school. He was a dental tech.

The no making decisions... huge one for me, I make a million decisions an hour it feels like, at work. I want peace.

Is so overstimulating. Alarm fatigue, caregiver fatigue, body fatigue. Silence is peace from that high flight mode

I depends on what kind of nurse you are and if you work at a hospital, a Dr. office, home health, or nursing home.

The people in the comments comparing it to other jobs, are y’all working 12,13,14 hour shifts? There is a HUGE difference!

I drive to and from work in silence as a way to prep/recover from all the stress and noise. Once home, I have almost nothing left to give. 😢

My husband became a nurse after 2 years of our marriage. He says he loves to hear the chaos of our 3 kids to forget all about those alarms at work. He leaves work at work.

I’m an RN, was married to a doctor, he didn’t even get it. He didn’t think nursing was as stressful and continually minimized my need for quiet, however wanting his time to decompress after work.

Not a nurse, but pharmacy tech. Constantly dealing with the public, phone’s ringing. It’s mentally exhausting
