@keenasfa: Sister Souljah did her thang when she wrote A Deeper Love Inside. I was about 24 years old when her book came out and her book alone set me on my path to gardening, plants and growing food! I never had a plant before that. Never had interest or awareness, thought or consideration for the necessity, beauty or purpose of planting. I tell people i never finished the book, but it was a life changing gift growing things. I see myself in everything I grow. I have brought plants home that were left for dead years ago and they thrive to this day. I've accidentally and incidentally grown food on my patio, backyard and kitchen counter. I learn the names of plants in the same respect as the way i learn the names of my ancestors. I celebrate their offspring as my first experience of being a grandma If there is even a bit of life left in a plant. I will help it grow.
