My boss ignores me for like 2 weeks and then is overly involved for 1 week checking in with me everyday. Then goes “well, that’s enough time with you”. The ignores me again.

Happened to me. Had glowing reviews for the whole year, but then my manager started to decline our biweekly 1:1’s and I would reschedule, slack to check in and nothing changed. SMH

If your boss isn't checking in, you should be providing updates to them on a bi-weekly basis via email. Don't give anyone a reason to question what you do.
