most of the things you mention are not true for the rest of the mainland. yes we drink and cook with the water, we do throw toilet paper down the toilet in urban areas where there is a central drainage system and also most households have dryers now. Most of these problems are rural and island area problems.

All true! Lived in Greece in 90-91. Me & my husband were putting toilet paper in the toilet and that went badly
