I had 2nd child premature, my husband worked for his FATHER, he was only allowed off the day they did the c-section. We ended up no contact after he barely got time to visit the NICU.

I was in Panama on a deployment when my first child was born. My unit had me back in the US 10 hours later, and when the Commander heard it was a c section, they extended me from 10 to 21 days quickly

whenever I need time off, I always get everything in writing. I also get other things in writing as well, no one is going to come at me and say it wasn't approved

From a woman's perspective- I took maternity leave from 36 weeks (company policy) put it in writing numerous time, never received an email back and left on leave. They called me up 2 weeks later and they told me they didn't even know I was pregnant and fired me for taking 'unapproved leave' while I was AT HOSPITAL GIVING BIRTH at 38 weeks. I'm sorry, did you not notice the change in my body weight from 42kgs to 76kgs?
