just because trail runners *might* be able to do alpine hikes, doesn't mean they're the best fit. you'll have a much safer, and more enjoyable time with "proper" hiking footwear

waterproof socks are a must have if you're using shoes like this, I use the SLab sense 8 and Altra Mont Blanc BOA and have to use waterproof socks when on snow or in wet weather

Trail runner and hiker here 👋🏻 I've ran in those conditions, all you need is to add a traction device (e.g. Kahtoola ExoSpikes) onto your shoes and you're good to go

salomons are amazing for dirt. you're in a mountain. throw some micro spikes on next time and it'll help, but lighter mountaineering boots do wonders if it's like this for a while.

Xt-6 have a sport style pair, I think this it it! It was designed for city and some hiking but for hikes like this you want shoes with ankle support and a shoe specifically designed for only hiking

XT6 are slippery in muddy/wet forest area when hiking. Tried and tested. Slipped and fell multiple times beecause the contagrip has no grip!!!

Aaah i love my Salomons aswell! I got the xt-6 but then with Goretex, those are waterproof 🥰

trail running shoes can be hiking shoes. for the snow you need specific shoes and equipment for winter hikes.
