My 2023 Corolla can read the street signs and knows the speed limit based on that, and doesn’t need the GPS to figure it out. That feature is currently turned off on my car.

Most new cars use a camera to read speed limit signs as you pass them and put on dash or in navigation screen already.

Already see it in the chevy work truck my company has, the speed limit is posed on the dash, and goes red if you speed

So not disagreeing with anything you have said, but I drive an 18 wheeler and we have a cameras that reads the signs and will tell you if you are speeding. Look up bendix wingman system.
