You’re making a much better connection with the pigtail when done correctly then wrapping the screws and removing potential failure points

I can’t tell you how many times I’ve seen screws strip out and loops not made correctly. The code is to make things idiot proof safely, same principle. So if the outlet fails, you don’t lose power
