We live in this weird world with - switches that route - routers that kind of firewall - firewalls that can act like routers Especially for smaller branches or sites, it can be hard to decide if you need a dedicated device. It might be tempting to turn on security features on your router, I want you to think about it like this: Can you run a marathon in high heels? Yes. It’s going to be painful and take you longer, but technically... you could do it. BUT if you wore sneakers (built for running) you’re going to have a much better time. For the same reasons, you should be thinking about an appliance that was built for security. Like the Meraki MX or the Secure Firewall 1200 :) What’s your go to security solution for small branches?
