File a claim with your insurance carrier, and they will probably sue the dealership to recoup their losses. Then it’s not your problem anymore other than a bump in premiums.

I work at a dealership. We are not responsible. We get hail all the time here unfortunately, and we can’t shelter all of the 200+ cars we have at once.

Same thing happened to my car that was in for service when hurricane Ike hit. They stuck it outside and brought new cars in. I just filed it on my insurance, nbd

My dealership has a sign stating they are not responsible for damage or theft of any kind. If a sign is not posted, take pics for proof and grab a lawyer.

An act of nature has nothing to do with the dealership. Some dealerships deal with 100’s of cars a day not including their own inventory. You think they have enough space to store 600 cars inside?

Dealership did that to my Mercedes, left it outside overnight and a windstorm came through and basically sand blasted the front of my car. Permanent paint damage I have to fix. They won’t pay for it

The same thing would’ve happened if the car was parked outside at your house. Why is it on the dealership? Every dealership around me doesn’t have the space to cover every new and used car on the lot

while it's not the dealership fault for the actual of nature. they are responsible when the vehicle is in their care custody or control so their garage keepers liability should have stepped in.

yes? I feel as the owner you understand certain things they aren't liable for. much like when in a store parking lot the store isn't liable for damaged to you car.

I left mine at the dealership to figure out what was going on with the transmission slipping. 2 weeks later someone stole the converter off the bottom. On camera and they wouldn’t do nothing 👀

This is exactly why if there’s any weather on the forecast, I will literally go pick up my truck and bring it home and put it in my shop until they can get to my vehicle not chancing this😅

uff. There are a lot of people on this thread that do not know how insurance works. Nor do they understand liability for the car of a vehicle. the dealership is not the one that covers this damage.

We own a small repair shop, if we know it’s headed our way we do our best.. but customers can also check the weather and come get their vehicle if they don’t want it out.

I remember when I was getting my car fixed and as I'm handing over the keys it started hailing out of nowhere. so many card were damaged. I got lucky.
