Orville Peck My favorite self acclaimed gay Western Goth Cowboy, Orville Peck! (I will refer to the artist by their stage name, other than hashtags.) 💜🏳️‍🌈🌵🦇🤠🦇🐺🌵🏳️‍🌈💜 Orville is a Capricorn who was born in South Africa to two musician parents, one being a sound engineer. Orville began learning acoustic guitar and piano/keyboards at home, took dance for 12 years as a child, attended LAMDA, building a foundation to become one of them fancy entertainers, touring nationally for theatre musicals. (I would have loved to see that, and wonder if any were Westerns. Now, I see where part of his perfect stage presence comes from. I have taken non-country fans, haters to be downright honest, to Orville’s shows that became fans.) Aside Orville’s Dad being a Percussionist, he was a sound engineer. Orville’s Mother was a guitarist and pianist, and we believe a teacher. Orville dwells in both the United States and Canada with his beloved rescue dog, and has a loving partner named William. Orville’s handsome mid-century treehouse home in Los Angeles was featured on Open House AD (Architectural Digest, and you can watch it on YouTube). Orville loves spending time in Palm Springs and the Mojave desert; enjoying moments with his close friend, star Trixie Mattel, other dear friends in the desert like those at Pappy & Harriet’s. Orville values time with his loved ones as much as his rest time outdoors. In a fun singing exercise where an artist has to quickly sing a song based off of a word they are given, and they are permitted to give the reason they chose the song, of course Ms. Parton came up. Orville said he began his country fandom as a little child with Dolly moving on to all his Dad’s favorites over the years. Peck seemed to choke up and said he felt maybe, it’s possible he has written a lot of his songs for his Dad. Orville plays multiple instruments. Peck drums like Animal, strums a guitar like Gene Autry until the thunder rolls in and it’s a full rocking tune where the 1930’s smacked into the 1990’s, he hits the ivory like Jerry Lee Lewis and Liberace’s love-child (okay I’m just pulling Liberace glamour into this comparison due to his glitz), and he can fine tune yer ears with croons reminiscent of the good old Sons of the Pioneers. (Of course the lyrics being a tad different from what yer grandparents, great and great-great grandparents listened to, or knew who all Sons were singing to! Most of their songs were about travel anyhow.)
