@eightieslaura: On this International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking (June 26), I am posting one of the “Thrill Can Kill” anti-drug campaign commercials featuring Ally Sheedy. This campaign was created by the motion picture industry and ran from 1987 to 1990, organized by the Partnership for a Drug-Free America. These video spots, which ran from 38 to 90 seconds, were shown in movie theaters; the first movie to feature one was the July 1987 theatrical release of “Jaws: The Revenge”. The campaign was promoted by First Lady Nancy Reagan, with funding and talent provided by the MPAA studios.
