@janaycoreen: I started my morning early with coffee AND I breakfast alone on the patio so that was a nice treat. A warm summer morning watching the sun come up is the best solo time. Layne protested our plans for a hike (as she does most days), but she ended up having a lot of fun. I forgot the bribery treat 😬 but we matched wildflowers to the flowers on her pants and she liked that game! She was also super stoked to hike with our friend Alicia (as was I). I think deep conversation while hiking in nature might be my favourite way to spend time with friends! It really is the best therapy. This was a new trail for me and the views of the river and canyon were beautiful! I will definitely be back. We stopped at the gas station on the way home for a post-hike treat (promising we’d stop for a treat was a good bribe too). Made lunch and then had a rainy walk to school to pickup Walker.
