@devinoutwest: Another trip around the sun today, and I could write a book about the things I’ve learned the hard way. I suppose this little poem I wrote down on a napkin awhile back sums up many of those important lessons. I’ve had times where I wanted for nothing and times where I had nothing. Now it really is the simple things that I appreciate and value the most. Like holding the hand of the best man I’ve ever met, having a community of friends that have your back, something to eat, somewhere to sleep, and a couple good horses to ride. And above all that there’s Jesus, who never forsakes, never leaves, and never gives up. I get so much wisdom from my man, who always reminds me that the greatest thing to be thankful for, is what Jesus did for us on the cross.
