@sxh_travel: Ignore the crowds, do this instead! Don’t stop for Arashiyama Bamboo Forest, but go to Adashino Nenbutsuji Temple. It’s just a 1.5 km/ 20 min walk further north. And less visited. Probably because, it’s less known, you have to literally walks the extra mile and pay 500 ￥ entrance fee of the Temple I was there on a Thursday around noon in June. I wasn’t lone the whole time.
