Question: if copper kills algae is it safe for fish and horses
Info: as the algae die, bacteria will decompose them while using up oxygen, may lead to dead fish

The copper can kill the fish. Give the fish some time. We did this with a much bigger trough. Either give them a clean tank to start or more time. They really really help.

You’re supposed to use copper sulfate like a teaspoon per 1,500 gallons for it to help with algae, the piping is completely neutral and is probably not doing anything.
