in dnd the underdark is full of plant life that doesnt require the sun to live, so that paired with the constant influx of water you're talking about would make interesting hydroponic setups. also their dwarves so like megalithic hydroponic gardens would totally be on brand

in Eberron, the dwarves of the Mror Holds dug deep enough to unearth ancient eldritch horrors and aberrations, and I like to think they eat at least some of them. beholder eyestalk barbecue or etc

less magical but they could plant in reverse... i.e plant seeds of root crops from beneath the soil and pick from below like a mole would. they could also catch actual moles and other ground dwellers.

plants like mushrooms and fungus, fish found in unground rivers ext, but also daylight spell+permanent spell on items hanging from the ceiling= farming, well that's how it works in my world lol

I mean that is basically what Senshi did. He traded for most of his fresh stuff, what he couldn’t grow himself. The golems alone were a really creative solution to growing food underground too tbh

I love watching things that validate world building I did years back. My conclusion to my players was that dwarves are better off as fantasy Japanese themed than Scottish.

I am only maybe 30 second into your vid. And I'll comment on it's finish later.. but in dnd... hill dwarves and Mountain Dwarves. HIll dwarves... ie short Scandinavians.
