@winnidesigns: ROOKIE 1st Try! Underpinning my HOME foundation! This is the process you would do if your house is settling in spots. The foundations need to be supported from underneath! It’s a very time consuming process! #remodel #construction #homerenovation #realestate #design #entrepreneur #interiordesign #renovation #homedecor #tools #DIY #carpentry #work #asmr #designer #homemade #engineering #houserenovation #homemakeoveronabudget #diyrenovation
Do you ever use the hawk tuah method in your process?

Why wouldn't you just do it all in one piece vs two separate pours with a joint?

Better than the professionals who do it everyday and’s rush through skipping most of these steps. Great job!

Was always taught to leave it 20mm down. Then you dry pack after as there will be shrinkage

How are you gonna strip the form on the end with rebar going through it?

baltwade :
One question: for the second pour you drilled into the first and used adhesive to set the rebar that tied the two pours together... why not just set the rebar when you did the first pour?

Its a really good job just use epoxy coated rebar next time to make sure it doesn’t rust and make the concrete go bad

Who don’t you just put the steel in when you pour the concrete instead of drilling holes after?

You shouldn’t use galvanized ties on non galvanized rebar .

Engineer here- for structural repair like this: for the larger repair, you need lateral tensile strength, so you’d need to add bend 4’s horizontally also. Maintain 2”+ from edge of concrete

Be careful about over vibrating. It separates the aggregates. And can make weak spots.
