Mine does not open. I have to actually utilize the key because it jams shot. Reached out to the company and they will not replace it.

The back up lock is cheap lock that can probably be picked faster then you can enter your code. Don't buy cheap pew safes off tik tok....

I bought three. The locking mechanism failed on one; the batteries die every 14 days on the second; the biometric system is 50/50 on the third. Buy something else.
