they give you a ticket and tell you to get it straight. and as long as you have insurance 9times out of 10 they don't mess with you (can confirm-am poor- no registration)

They never tow your stuff (at least I haven’t been). Just a ticket and after you get it inspected you can get it waived so it is only like $20 extra at the end of the day.

I've been pulled over multiple times for my expired tags (11/21) and (knock on wood) they've literally never towed me. they did end up confiscating the expired sticker lol
