I’m curious about your opinion about how Mary took on the role of caregiver when her non-schizophrenic brothers left them. I understand not everyone can do it but idk I thought it was a bit messed up

I had mixed feelings about it. I finally got to watch it. I’m glad it shed light on the “range” of some of the presentations, but I hated how it lacked that context - it was just “this happened”, and

Just watched this and it is absolutely heartbreaking. It’s also interesting that they talked about the connection between trauma and schizophrenia development

I was super disappointed by this documentary. HBO had an opportunity to educate the public and instead, they created fear-mongering. I get schizophrenia can get bad, but most of us don't struggle as

I'm scared this docu will have a negative effect honestly. Not saying it will but in general I'm always scared when I see a media with schizophrenia getting popular and it being used to further stigma

I made myself watch it all at one time. I knew I wouldn’t come back if I didn’t… was triggering at times.. I have bipolar 2 so I can’t relate completely but that family … goodness

its like an affluent family trying to reconcile the violence of their privilege by blaming the schizophrenic siblings for being "Abnormal". I love your read, but felt the family omitted analysis.

I gave up on the book bc of something crazy the author said about autism. Don’t even remember what it was but it was so wrong the book lost all credibility to me
