There was a huge TSB from Detroit a few years back saying that they would void any and all warranty if a roloc disc was used to clean any surfaces while doing an in-frame.

I've done it too but one thing I've got to say volvo d13 gasket is metal with combustion rings around it so I don't know if it would seal like the cat or isx Just my thought love your work

I rebuilt more of those maxxforce engines than I can count and used rolocs on the block with no issues. Always brought the liners to .005-.006 protrusion

I agree I do use the plastic 3M 048011-18730 3M-18730 Roloc Bristle Disc Grade-50, Size-2, Green, they are great

I used to use the brown Rolocs to clean the surfaces. I now use a wire cup brush. works great. That engine already has issues with liner protrusion. The brown Roloc will remove metal.

I cleaned head, oil pan, and many more with a roll lock and never had an issue
