Go to lowes or home depot & buy the shiplap panels, they're similar to wood paneling, & super cheap. Take down the fluorescent lights, nail up the shiplap & get new lights.

We used a we used a pump up garden sprayer to put on Awesome when we did this 2 years ago. Saved so much time.

When we use our mop we boil a pot of water and then mix with our cleaning products and found that boiling the water gives it a steam clean and helps take out some of the labor of cleaning. 🥰

you can buy cannes paint for tiles but I'd just paint um with a roller

if you paint without cleaning, it will bleed through unless you use a special primer

They make ceiling tiles now that have like a cute molding look and are pvc so they won’t be damaged by any water. Highly recommend. They look so nice!

The ceiling tile is porous I believe, so cleaning it would be difficult. Maybe just disinfectant them and paint over as you suggested 😊

the kitchen ceiling you can scrub but the living room ceiling has to be painted because of texture.

Did you try Liquid Gold? It’s the best for paneling. And easy too.
