@createdbykatherineanne: I have been interested in fashion my entire life and when I learned about the horrors behind the fast fashion industry (the treatment of women and children in sweatshops), I decided to make a concious effort to shop sustainably. Unfortunately, this just resulted in me overconsuming from thrift stores. Buying things that I wasn’t going to realisticly wear more than a few times then redonating them. I am currently a college student studying fashion and sustainability and have come to learn that sustainability isn’t about buying the right thing from the right place. It’s about stewardship, taking care of what you already have. I don’t want to live my life in a constant cycle of consumption. I want to be both content and grateful for what I have been given. My dad always says “scarcity breeds creativity”.
