@sakanasyndicate: Omilu chasing Kupipi gyotaku fish-print! 🔥 Normally with my gyotaku work I’m printing and preserving memories for others, but today I was fortunate to do one of my own catches. This Omilu was caught on spinning tackle using a live Kupipi (Spotted Damselfish) as bait. As always with gyotaku nothing is ever wasted! I turned this Omilu into a delicious Panang Thai-inspired Laulau after the impression was made 🤙🏻 #gyotaku #fishprint #makaiimpressions #oceanart #japaneseart

I’ll never forget the day I saw him in the snow. His mother, white as the winter around her, was protecting her other cubs… but not him. He was different. Tiny. Hairless. Shaking. He tried to crawl toward her. She pushed him away with her paw. She growled. And then she walked off… toward the white horizon with the others, without looking back. I was watching from far away. I waited a few seconds that felt like forever… and when I finally walked toward him, he was still crying on the frozen ground. I picked him up with both hands. He was ice cold. Fragile. But alive. I tucked him inside my jacket and whispered that he was safe now. 🤍 At home, he felt warmth for the first time. And then he met Janet. Janet, my golden. The gentlest soul. The kindest heart. 🐕✨ She sniffed him carefully. She accepted him. She protected him. Fur slowly began to grow. He got stronger. They ran through the house like they were meant to find each other. They played in the snowy garden, jumping over logs and rocks. They slept with me, one on each side. Janet snoring on her back. The jaguar curled against me. I thought the worst was behind us. But life isn’t always fair. One day, Janet got sick. I stood beside her at the vet, helpless, telling her I was there. And then… she was gone. The house felt empty. I sat on the floor and held the jaguar — now grown. He cried too. And I whispered: “Janet… we’ll never forget you, love.” 🤍 What began with rejection ended in family. What began in the cold ended in love. Some names never leave you. Janet. 🕊️🤍🐾 ⸻ #TrueStory #AnimalRescue #UnconditionalLove #FromAbandonedToFamily #SnowJaguar 🤍🐾🕊️💔
