It’s never easy to be vulnerable on my social media as I consider myself a rather private person when it comes to expressing how I truly feel. Pursuing music as a full-time career in Singapore is probably not the most conventional career path. I often struggle with self-doubt, imposter syndrome, and comparison, and these thoughts are often amplified by social media. These feelings can lead to weeks of depressive episodes, but what keeps me going is the support of my loved ones and trusting that things will get better. This National Day, I am glad to be a part of ‘here. sunrise x sunset’ — an initiative by @Geneco Singapore that encourages us to breathe because sometimes we might forget to, give ourselves the pause we deserve, and simply be in the present. As part of this campaign, I wrote ‘endless shine’ as a letter to anyone feeling the same way. It reminds us that progress is part of the journey, so let’s take it one step at a time and give ourselves space to breathe.
