It depends. In Austria it's pretty well understood by endocrinologists. I immediately got a full blood work which showed insulin resistance with a referral to the endocrinology department at the hospital for further testing. (in my case it's just IR not PCOS bc they are still two seperate things that often correlate but aren't the same thing). But yes it was the 1. Dr. I consulted and I got my guess confirmed. Mind you that endocrinologist was a man and in his late 60s and not a private Dr. either.

and what happens to us with pcos when we are at the age of not having babies anymore but still suffering? not one dr has helped me. they only helped me when I was trying to get pregnant 12 years ago.
