@missclairebenjamin: 🚨Handling a new job nightmare👇 Getting off to a difficult start with a new job where you’re not inducted and receive no training or handover is a horrible feeling. It can leave you struggling to get to grips with things and sometimes even questioning what you’re supposed to be doing 😳 So when your manager then turns around and says they expected you to get up to speed with things quicker than you have, it can feel very overwhelming, worrying and infuriating. You may even fear your job security especially if you have a probationary period. Companies should always provide proper inductions and training. There is so much evidence out there on the importance of it. Sadly though so many people find themselves in this situation. Whilst no one should be in this position, if you do find yourself in it, it’s wise to focus on what you do have control over which is what happens going forward and what you need to thrive and get up to speed with things given the absence of proper onboarding. I would recommend sharing a list of things with your manager that you think would help you for example shadowing people doing a similar job, a workplace mentor, a weekly 1:1 with some short and long term objectives. And ask your manager what they would recommend. Most of all don’t doubt yourself which I know can be so hard in these situations. You’ve got this 👏 📌 Please remember the advice offered in this video is generalised and will not fit every situation. You know your situation better than anyone else so trust your instincts, if this doesn’t fit your situation ignore it. 💬 Have you ever been in this situation? I never understood how some companies view training as an expense rather than an investment….

So tired of being “tossed” into the water and hoping I swim. Then I get in trouble for rules they never told me about.

I quite literally tried this approach almost exactly at a previous job, and I was just told it was “Trial By Fire” 💀

2 days training (hardly), passive agressive coworkers who dont like newer people, false accusations... "u been here for 2 months and your underperforming" ( actually 1 and half months)👎

I have ADHD and unfortunately it’s extremely hard for me. Most places have poor training and get upset because you don’t pick up things exactly like them.

With my undiagnosed adhd and autism i'd really hate this 😭 - I cant help being forgetful and even writing my own notes, sometimes go blank to retain what I've written 😂😭, stop calling me out 😂💕

Sink or swim mentality. I was told to 'ask questions' and then berated in group chats by my bosses boss when I inevitably. No training is a red flag I won't look past again 😬

Did this at a job and the manager singled me out in front of my coworkers, made a toxic environment to make me quite but when I didn't they fired me, admitting that I should have quite weeks ago. 🙃

I was in this situation once. For me it was a red flag to get the hell out of there. 3months after I left the business folded.
