I am a licensed pyrotechnic and we cover our mortar with plywood when it rains. Mortars shoots right through the plywood without any problems. Just to show you how powerful they are out the tube

Can confirm,,, my dad did this one year and it still went off. It didn’t hit him luckily, but it was so close that the heat of the firework burnt off his eyebrows and all the hair on one arm
