What I Ate In A Day At 23 Weeks Pregnant - First off I’m so grateful that I’ve had no nausea or food aversions since 12 weeks and have generally been feeling great except some tiredness in the mornings from time to time which coffee has been a huge help as well as holding me over till brunch which helps me reduce my daily intake of calories. I’m sure some people may be wondering why I am counting calories during pregnancy. I had gained a lot of weight prior (weighing almost 200 lbs) and I think it is in both the baby and my own best interest to limit further weight gain as much as possible. Also I only really track my calories during the week as I cook all our meals. We eat out on the weekend which is difficult to track calories and I let myself indulge so I am likely clocking in high calories driving up the overall average over a week time so it’s also a bit of a balancing move.  Apart from calories another very important component are my macros especially protein. People can eat plenty calories without getting proper nutrition which is very important for health and child development. As long as I get sufficient protein (recommended 75g-100g protein during pregnancy) and nutrients, it is perfectly healthy to eat at a 1500-1600 calorie diet. I’ve consulted my OBGYN regarding this as well.
